Afghanistan has been under severe snowfall for the past several years

Many provinces in Afghanistan see an exceptionally cold winter in every winter season , with temperatures dropping to as low as -21 degrees Celsius (-5.8 Fahrenheit) in Kabul.. Most Afghans live in remote valleys where connecting roads are often blocked by heavy snowfalls. They purchased some coal at the start of the winter, but in this [cold] weather, their supply is almost over, and they cannot afford any more. At on the foot of the formidable Hindu Kush mountains, town is no stranger to harsh winter. In fact, the heavy snow replenishes groundwater and can be beneficial to agriculture.

People feel happiness in snowing season ,they think that it is a gift from God and it will be useful for wells and farmers, but they express concern about how will they stay warm as the temperatures fall,” .“they can barely afford to buy food,” solemnly. “If they buy coal and wood, then they won’t be able to buy food. “This is the only thing that they have but it never gets hot enough because they can’t afford even a little wood for the small heating system . They usually use discarded plastics and papers, which doesn’t last a very long time,” People of villages says that they don’t know how they will    survive it without food or heat,”.

In January 2023 Taliban administration  rescued civilians trapped in remote locations after heavy snowfall, The extreme winter was already compounded the misery of Afghans who were already suffering from an unprecedented humanitarian crisis, affecting 28 million people, according to the latest figures from the UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA).Mostly northern, central, southern, north-western, south-western parts of Afghanistan. Mazar-i-Sharif ( Notorious for having extreme weather both in summer and winter),Samangan
Baghlan,Badakhshan,Jozjan,Sari-pul,Bamyan DiKondi,Wardak,Ghazni,Zabul
Ghore,Nangarhar( but only on areas near Spin Ghar)
Nooristan, and
Konar ( only on its north and north western areas)
